The Vancouver Maritime Museum is thrilled to announce its upcoming Family Fun Day event. The event will take place on Monday, February 19th, from 10am to 5pm. The museum will be free by donation and families can enjoy a day of exciting exhibitions, storytelling sessions, food trucks, Coastal Nations Coast Guard Auxiliary meet and greets, and the opportunity to hang out with the Port of Vancouver’s trusty mascot, Salty the Seagull.

Whether you’re a history buff, a maritime enthusiast, or just looking for a fun and engaging day out with the family, there’s something for everyone at the VMM.

Programs Manager at the Vancouver Maritime Museum, Darragh De Groot says, “We are excited to welcome families to spend time together at the Vancouver Maritime Museum, from exploring the St. Roch to meeting and greeting with the Coast Guard. There is lots to explore for families.”

Crack On and Chickpea food trucks will be in the parking lot at the Maritime Museum and available to visitors. The Coastal Nations Coast Guard Auxiliary will also be present for people to meet and ask questions about their roles. Kids can also participate in interactive storytelling sessions centered around tugboats and the coast guard.

Children can also meet Salty the Seagull, the Port of Vancouver’s beloved mascot, who will be available for photos and hugs. With so much to see and do, the Vancouver Maritime Museum’s Family Fun Day is the perfect affordable outing for families.

Situated in the picturesque area of Vanier Park, the Vancouver Maritime Museum is a perfect place to spend time with friends and family. As well as the museum and its exhibitions, visitors can appreciate scenic walks along the waterfront, and the chance to get up and close and personal to several beautiful wooden vessels docked at the Heritage Harbour.

Admission to the event is free by donation and early bird tickets are currently sold out, but visitors are encouraged to turn up for walk-in admissions. For more information visit vanmaritime.com.
