“On the Job” big winner in PMPC Star Awards

MANILA, Philippines – Highly-acclaimed film “On the Job” brought home numerous major awards in Sunday night’s (March 9) Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies held at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City.
Among these awards were Best Picture of the Year, Director of the Year for Erik Matti, Best Cinematography, Best Editor, and Screenwriter of the Year for Matti and co-writer Michiko Yamamoto.
Actor Joey Marquez, who played the role Sgt. Joaquin Acosta, also won the Movie Supporting Actor of the Year.
The other winners were:
Movie Actor of the Year—Vice Ganda for the movie Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy
Movie Actress of the Year—KC Concepcion for Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill
Movie Supporting Actress of the Year—Angel Aquino for the movie Ang Huling Cha-Cha Ni Anita.
New Movie Actress of the Year—Isabelle Daza for It Takes a Man and a Woman
New Movie Actor of the Year—Vince Tanada for Otso
Movie Child Performer of the Year—Ryzza Mae Dizon for My Little Bossings
Special awards:
Nora Aunor Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award—Rustica Carpio
Ulirang Alagad ng Pelikula sa Likod ng Kamera Lifetime Achievement Award—Peque Gallaga and Ricky Lee
The Dekada Actress awardees—Eugene Domingo, Judy Ann Santos, and Ai-Ai De Las Alas
Dekada Actor awards—Baron Geisler, John Lloyd Cruz, Aga Muhlach, Piolo Pascual, Dennis Trillo, and Jericho Rosales
Dekada Director awards—Jerrold Tarog, Mark Meily, Jose Javier Reyes, Olivia Lamasan, Maryo J. de los Reyes, and Joel Lamangan
Female and Male Stars of the Night—Toni Gonzaga and Piolo Pascual
For the Indie categories, the movie Badil won Best Picture and Chito Roño for the Director of the Year.
