Red Cross treats patients during Papal visit in Manila

MANILA  — The Philippine Red Cross on Friday treated patients in its field hospitals as millions trooped to the streets for the activities of Pope Francis in Manila.

In a text message, the PRC said the field hospital at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) complex had served a 17 year-old woman who lost consciousness and 37 year-old man with allergic reaction and itchiness.

A total of 11 patients were also treated at the medical stations of PRC spread along the vicinity of Manila Cathedral where Pope Francis held a holy mass at noon.

Among the cases were vomiting, dizziness, difficulty of breathing, lacerations, abrasions, shoulder, fracture, loss of consciousness and allergic reaction.

A total of 29 medical stations were prepared by PRC at the strategic sites along the Papal route where huge crowds are expected.
