PAGASA monitors another weather disturbance in Pacific Ocean

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has monitored another weather disturbance forming in the Pacific Ocean.

”We are seeing another weather disturbance in the Pacific Ocean, but it is possible that it may dissipate,” PAGASA Weather Forecaster Jori Loiz said in a press conference Monday at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) office in Quezon City.

He said the analysis for the weather disturbance might be finished by this week, adding it is too early to predict whether it will become a typhoon.

If it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and continues to become a Low Pressure Area (LPA), it will be named “Senang”.

PAGASA Officer-in-Charge Deputy for Operations and Services Landrico Dalida Jr. told PNA the weather disturbance is passing through the same route as tropical storm “Ruby”.

However, he pointed out, PAGASA sees the weather disturbance heading towards northern Luzon.

PAGASA estimates there will be two more typhoons to enter the country this month.

The Pacific Ocean is a breeding ground for typhoons, usually triggered through the presence of warm air in the area.
