More debts for gov’t in Sept

MANILA – A data from the Bureau of Treasury showed that the government has incurred more debt in September than in the previous month.

This is despite the nine-month payments slow-down on year-on-year record.

According to the date, the government spent P33.

89 billion in payment to settle the maturing liabilities for the month of September.

The said figure is 34-percent higher than the amount spent for August which is at P25.

A total of P28.83 billion worth of interest was also paid for the month of September. This is aside from the P5.06 billion in amortization.

Debt servicing was also lower at 24.8 percent last September compared to the P45.06 billion pain the same month last year.

From January to September the total debts paid was P337.12 billion, 28.3 percent lower than the P470.14 billion paid for the debts made in the same months last year.
