MANILA – The Archdiocese of Palo is set to give out more than 78,000 free tickets for people to attend the papal mass which will be officiated by no other than Pope Francis when he visits Tacloban City early next year.

According to Rev. Fr. Cris Militante, media coordinator for the pope’s visit, 1,000 tickets will be distributed to each of the 78 parishes and mission stations in the archdiocese are already reserved for the mass to be held at Tacloban Airport.

“The tickets will be brought in by the parishes’ representatives.

As of now, we see that we need at least 1000 representatives from every parish here at the Archdiocese of Palo,” said Militante.

He noted that those who will not be given tickets are also encouraged to join the mass. However, only those with tickets will be allowed to enter the secured space. The tickets will be used to control the number of attendees and are not considered as VIP passes.

Pope Francis is set to visit the country on January 15 to 19.
