No turning back for Binay
MANILA – Amid the corruption issues raised against him, there is no turning back for Vice President Jejomar Binay in the coming 2016 presidential elections.
“Walang atrasan ito. Tuloy tayo sa 2016, tuloy ang ating pagtakbo (There’s no turning back. We will seek the presidency in 2016),” he said.
Binay made the statement in Bulacan province as he continues visiting and mingling with people and his local political allies.
While in Bulacan, Binay joined market vendors in a breakfast boodle fight in Hangonoy.
Binay said that visiting public markets is what he really wants to do as he get to talk to “real people.
”
He also dismissed criticisms that he is only doing it as a campaign to prepare for the 2016 elections.
“Iyan ang kagandahan ng nakaupo ka sa puwesto, nakakapagtrabaho ka at nakakadaupang palad mo ng direkta ang mga tao.
Nasa inyo nang media kung ano ang iinterpret ninyo, kung kampanya ito o hindi, depende na iyan sa tumatanaw (It pays to be an incumbent official because you get to work and interact with the people. It’s up to the media to interpret that action, whether this is a campaign or not, and depending on who is observing),” he said.
