The Precinct Chief of Central Park Police Community Precinct 5 (PCP 5) has been relived from his duties, in connection with a robbery allegedly committed by three policemen under his command.

National Capital Region Police Office chief Director CarmeloValmoria said on Saturday that Chief Insp. Eric Angustia, has been removed from his post, pending the results of the investigation of the heist involving three Pasay City police officers who have been linked with the robbery of P1-million from an office messenger en route to the bank on November 6.

Angustia is the direct superior of the policemen in question, and his administrative liability in the case is currently under scrutiny, as well.

Pasay City Police Chief, Senior Supt. Melchor Reyes, disclosed that it was he who ordered the removal of Angustia from his post.

“Since [Angustia’s] men are reportedly involved, that’s what we do. This is about command responsibility,” Reyes told reporters from the Inquirer.

Meanwhile, Jose Mari Calimag Jasmin has been appointed as officer-in-charge of PCP 5.
The three policemen – PO1 Alas Soliman, PO1 Ronald Villanueva and PO2 Mark Manguera – have been implicated in the robbery which took place at the corner of Macapagal Avenue and Buendia Extension.

The three officers, together with suspects identified as Limuel Camposagrado, Alexander Pantoja and a certain “Arnel,” allegedly intercepted Senubi Travel & Tours Co.messenger, Jeffrey Rabe as he was on his way to the bank to deposit P1,002,931 in cash. The group purportedly held Rabe up at gunpoint, and made away with the cash.

Policemen who responded to Rabe’s call for help managed to arrest Camposagrado and Pantoja. Soliman, who was seen on video surveillance footage as he fleeing the crime scene, was later on arrested in Valenzuela City.

Villanueva was the next to fall, after the gun used by Pantoja was traced back to him; but Manguera and the man identified as Arnel are still at large.
