MANILA – Five people, including three children, died from separate fire incidents in Metro Manila during All Saints’ Day.

Forty-year-old Mary Grace Sundiya and her children Peter Gerrado Jr., 5; Gerald Mark, 3; and Geraly, 1, were discovered together after a fire that razed more than 60 houses in Binondo, Manila on Saturday.

In Makati, 26-year-old Troy John Bautista was already rescued by his sister but for one reason or another ran back to his room. He died on Sunday morning.

A second fire broke out in the same city at 9:25 p.m. but there are no reports about casualty.

Based on investigations, authorities said that there is a possibility that an unattended lit candle caused the fires.

Gerardo Sundiya Sr. was working when the fire occurred. He rushed back to his house to save his family, but came too late.
