Filipino Ehrlich Ocampo amazes ‘AGT’ judges, audience with leviwand act
Filipino circus performer Ehrlich “Firechill” Ocampo stunned the audiences, as well as the judges, of the talent show “America’s Got Talent (AGT)” during his audition.
Ehrlich wowed the crowd with his mesmerizing leviwand act, showcasing his dance techniques while perfectly controlling leviwands and a hula-hoop that seemed to be floating in mid-air.
His performance was followed by cheers from the audience and a standing ovation from the judges: Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell. Ehrlich received four yeses from the judges, making him move to the next round of the talent show.
Ehrlich landed in the U.S. nine days prior to his audition. Before his performance, he was asked by Sofia about his reason for coming to the “AGT” stage, to which he answered: “I gave up everything to pursue my performing. People thought I was crazy, I didn’t think I’ll make it here but my friends and family, they supported me and inspired me to fight.”
“I’m here fighting for myself, for my family, my friends, my community, my country,” he continued.
Ehrlich, through a clip he posted on his social media pages, thanked those who supported him.
“I’m happy, it feels like I represented the Philippines and the art of leviwand well. We’ll see what happens next so keep watching ‘America’s Got Talent,'” he said in the video.
In the caption of that post, he added, “Life here at sea has been amazing and seeing all of your messages from dry land make my heart full!”
“AGT” is on its 16th season with Terry Crews as its host.
