Nora Aunor nominated at 8th Asia Pacific Screen Awards
MANILA – The Superstar strikes again. Veteran actress Nora Aunor was recently nominated for the Best Performance of an Actress award in the 8th Pacific Screen Awards for her role in “Hustisya,” a political-drama film by Joel Lamangan.
The nomination was announced on Tuesday during the ceremonies at the Treasury Casino and Hotel in Brisbane, Australia.
This is Aunor’s second nomination. In 2012, she was nominated for her performance in Brillante Mendoza’s “Thy Womb.”
Aunor will be competing with the following: Ronnit Elkabetz from Israel, Lü Zhong from China, Tang Wei from China and Merila Zareie from Iran.
Aside from her, Giancarlo Abrahan was nominated as well for the Best Screenplay award for his film “Dagitab” (Sparks).
In August, both “Hustisya” and “Dagitab” were screened during the 10th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
Deemed as the “Oscars of the Pacific,” the Asia Pacific Screen Awards recognizes excellence in the “world’s fastest growing film region”.
Winners will be announced during the awards nights in Australia on December 11.
