41,600 cops ready for Undas
MANILA – A total of 41,600 policemen are now getting ready for their deployment in cemeteries, terminals, major roads and vital installations all over the country during All Saint’s Day.
Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II said that the Philippine National Police will be on a full alert status beginning on October 30.
The alert status will remain until Nov.
3, when people will be rushing from their provinces to Manila.
In a press conference, Roxas added that 17 police regional offices will deploy at least 4,034 policemen.
In the National Capital Region, a total of 4,278 policemen will be deployed with 2,595 of it concentrating in cemeteries around Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, some 14,000 policemen will be stationed in their regular posts and patrol around residential areas, as a preventive measure against burglary. This is as many families will be on a vacation in the said holidays.
“We hope that the situation will be generally peaceful.
To date there is no monitored threat reported,” Roxas said.
