Avril Lavigne’s concert in Manila now scheduled in 2022
As the world continues to battle against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Canadian singer Avril Lavigne won’t push through her concert in Manila this year.
This was announced by Wilbros Live on Friday, May 14, saying that the concert will be moved to May 2, 2022.
Fans who have already purchased tickets were advised to keep them as those will still be honored on the new concert date.
But for individuals who want to refund or change their ticket, Wilbros Live said they could contact TicketNet at info@ticketnet.com.ph or call 8911-5555. Refunding of tickets is only until May 30, 2021, Sunday.
“We apologize for the wait and we hope to see you all at Avril Lavigne’s concert next year. Thank you for your patience and continued support!” it said.
It was in 2019 when it was announced that the singer would be performing in the Philippines on May 20, 2020 at the Araneta Coliseum. The Manila concert is part of her “Head Above Water World Tour.”
However, Avril announced last year that her Asia tour, which also includes shows in China, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, won’t happen due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My band, crew and I have been working so hard to bring this tour worldwide and are completely bummed out,” she said in her 2020 Facebook post, reminding everyone to take care of themselves and to stay healthy.
Avril and rapper MOD SUN kicked off 2021 with the release of their collaborative single, “Flames.” They dropped the acoustic version of the song last April.
