GMA gets unfair treatment, administration violates law – Binay

MANILA – The unfair treatment against former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is just one of the law violations of the administration, according to Vice President Jejomar Binay.

Binay said yesterday that the current administration is being biased against the opposition with regards to the treatment of cases including the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).

“Tama ba yung ginagawa kay GMA  (Is GMA being fairly treated)?

While it is true that as a general rule, you act on the motion for bail after the presentation of the prosecution’s evidence, pero (but) there are instances where it appears already that on the (pieces of) evidence presented, ‘wala naman talagang kaso (there’s no case at all),” said Binay.

It could be noted that Binay also faced suspension from his post as the Makati City mayor during former president Arroyo’s term.

“Pwede mo na talagang resolbahin yun, pero hindi nireresolba. Ka-babaeng tao, presidente yun, o minsan naging presidente. May sakit pa. Tama ba yun? Palagay ko hindi naman ho yata tama yun,” he added.

Binay also noted what he termed as “selective justice” in the current administration.

The vice president made the statement expressing his sentiments against the Aquino administration during an impromptu open forum after delivering his speech at the 5th MCLE Accredited National Convention of Public Attorneys at the Tent City of the Manila Hotel.

Meanwhile, Arroyo who is currently suffering from a spinal condition and is facing plunder charges and election sabotage is now under hospital arrest at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City.
