MANILA – Newly-appointed Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) acting director Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba on Wednesday vowed to effectively fulfill the mandate of the elite unit of the police force.

“As I heed on the challenges as the acting director of the Special Action Force in the midst of our war against this protracted crisis, in a battle wherein this faceless enemy brings havoc to our health security while continually battling different atrocities in terrorism, insurgency, criminality, and natural calamities, I call to mind the guidance of the Chief PNP, Gen. Camilo Cascolan, to be a living example of Pulis na Responsable, Respetado at Disiplinado,” Balba said in his message during the turnover of command ceremony held at the Hinirang Hall, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

Balba replaced Maj. Gen. Amando Empiso, who was designated as the new Director for Integrated Police Operations-Southern Luzon.

Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, PNP deputy chief for administration, presided the turnover of command ceremony.
