The power of artists to fans is really incredible as it can take a shoutout for a crowd to suddenly swarm into one thing. This appears to be the case as Ben&Ben trended in South Korea.

Melon Realtime Search Chart’s top trend spots were dominated by the key terms “Ben&Ben,” “Leaves,” “ben and ben,” and “Ben&ben leaves” as seen from a fan who shared the news to the band through a tweet saying that they were currently trending in South Korea.

A simple and chill “uy nice” was their initial response to this.

Another tweet shared by the band confirmed this, showing that they occupied the #1, #2, #3, #6, and #7 spots in the music chart.

This time, the band finally said “can’t believe it. we’re trending # 1 in south Korea.”

While the abovementioned tweet by twitter handle @charts_yg said that it does not know the reason why this was happening, it seemed that some Korean artists played the band’s 2017 single “Leaves.”

Ben&Ben tweeted their gratitude to NCT 127’s Mark Lee as the Korean artist played the song.” The band quote retweeted netizen @howoozidan who shared a snippet of Mark’s VLive broadcast where he was awed while listening to Ben&Ben’s tunes.

In another tweet, they also thanked Young K of K-rock band Day 6, by quote retweeting a video still of the artist saying “Ben&Ben. Leaves. It was amazing, wow. I was surprised.”

Earlier on June 11, another Korean artist was swooned by the same song.

A fan’s tweet shared by Ben&Ben quoted Renjun NCT DREAM said, “the song we just heard was god sent from ben&ben! it’s a really nice song~”

Ben&Ben is known for several hits like “Kathang Isip,” “Maybe The Night,” and “Masyado Pang Maaga.”

Their recent release is “Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin” which they dubbed as “isang alay sa ating mga kapamilya para sa bigat ng mga pangyayari ngayon (an offering for our families amidst these trying times).
