MANILA — After the second day of training, trainer Buboy Fernandez is confident that Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao has a chance to beat challenger Chris Algieri in their fight on November 23 in Macau.

Fernandez said that Pacquiao exudes the right amount of power and intensity in his punches enough to defend his championship from Algieri.

“Algieri will be put in his proper place [once he feels Pacquaio’s punches],” said Fernandez during an interview.

Algieri currently holds the championship for the light welterweight category (140 pounds).

He will move up to catch Pacquiao’s welterweight crown (144 pounds).

Despite the long rest, Fernandez said that Pacquiao is at shape and will be ready for the training once his head coach, Freddie Roach, arrives.
