96 more Covid-19 cases among Pinoys abroad: DFA
MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday reported 96 more coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases among overseas Filipinos, raising the total to 5,355.
Of the overall tally, five new recoveries were registered in the Asia Pacific and Europe with two new fatalities in the Middle East.
The recoveries and death toll stood at 2,210 and 357, respectively.
“Based on the latest figures, the Middle East and Europe still have the highest number of recorded Filipinos infected with Covid-19, Asia and the Pacific has the fewest number of cases and highest in recoveries followed by Europe, while Americas still has the highest number of fatalities followed by the Middle East,” the DFA said.
Currently, there are 2,788 OFs undergoing treatment — 152 in the Asia Pacific region, 453 in Europe, 1,910 in the Middle East/Africa, and 273 in the Americas.
