Actress Sylvia Sanchez, husband contract novel coronavirus

Actress Sylvia Sanchez is the latest local showbiz personality confirmed to be infected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

On Tuesday, March 31, the 48-year-old actress said that it’s not only her that has been infected but also her husband, Art Atayde.

Releasing a copy of their test result in an Instagram post, Sanchez narrated that she and her husband went to the hospital last March 24 because the actress was experiencing chills, while her husband had cough and shortness of breath. Due to this, both of them underwent testing for COVID-19 and later did self-isolation.

“A week later, we finally received the results and we both came out positive for COVID-19,” she wrote.

Even though they both tested positive for the disease, Sanchez assured that she and her husband are “getting better each day.

”

“Although this is slower than our usual recovery, we know that with prayers and strict compliance with our doctor’s orders, we will get there,” she said.

She also asked those people whom they had direct contact with before the implementation of the community quarantine to check themselves if they experience symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, fever, LBM, and sore throat.

“Until then, we will keep you updated on how this progresses,” the actress said, advising the public to take their vitamins and to stay at home too so the virus won’t further spread.

Their co-stars and supporters, meanwhile, sent their get well wishes for the couple.

Sanchez was among the local showbiz personalities who announced that they got the disease, following veteran actor Christopher de Leon and actress Iza Calzado.

Both de Leon and Calzado were already permitted to go home from the hospital.

The Luzon lockdown, which was implemented to control the spread of the virus is set to expire on April 12, Sunday.
