Philippine Science Diliman students bag award at Moscow fair

MANILA, Philippines – A team of students from Philippine Science High School-Diliman (PSHS) took home an award at last month’s 10th International Student’s Science Fair (ISSF) held in Moscow, Russia.

The team’s research, entitled “Development of a Leap Motion Controller-based Program for Finger Range-of-Motion Measurement,” was one of 23 entries submitted in the Biotechnology, Health, and Medicine category. Of the 23 projects, three –including the entry of the PSHS team – were awarded as “Most Creative and Innovative.”

The PSHS team was composed of Adrielle Theresa DL. Cusi, John Christian G. Nacpil, and Lizbeth Joy G. Tan. The students were accompanied by teacher/adviser Donna Salve P.

Hosted by the Moscow Chemical Lyceum #3103 (MCL) in collaboration with the Lift to the Future organization and the People’s Friendship University of Russia, the 10th ISSF saw the participation of delegates from 25 countries. A total of 120 projects were entered in poster exhibitions and roundtable discussions.

Held yearly, the ISSF seeks to provide an avenue for networking and information-sharing among students and teachers from countries the world over in the “STEM” fields: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
