MANILA — Malacanang on Tuesday allayed fears of any possible terror threat following a foiled car bombing attempt at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) the other day.

“Ang nais lang nating sabihin sa kasalukuyan ay wala namang malubhang ligalig na dapat umiral dahil sa insidenteng ‘yan,” assured Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. in a Palace press briefing.

Coloma said concerned government agencies thwarted dangerous plot prepared by a group.

He said President Benigno S. Aquino III already tasked the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct in-depth investigation on the NAIA Terminal 3 incident.

“Ayon sa DOJ, sumasailalim na sa inquest investigation ang mga nadakip na suspect.

Antabayanan na lang natin ang resulta ng magiging, ng kasalukuyang imbestigasyon,” he added.

The PCOO chief assured that the government remained vigilant and ready to take action against threats.

“…The government is ultimately responsible for the safety and well being of its citizens. And that is why even if there have been no serious consequences as a result of what has been uncovered, we want to forestall or to impede any future attempt that might threaten the stability and peace and order of our land and communities,” Coloma further said.
