Akbayan Youth: VP Leni fired for doing good work on anti-drug campaign

“VP Leni was fired for showing an effective campaign against substance abuse in two weeks. She showed she’s tough against criminals by demanding for the list of high value targets in the drug trade which was denied from her. She showed she is caring when she declared a no-kill policy and focused on rehabilitation,” Dr. Naguit said. (File Photo: VP Leni Robredo/Facebook)

Akbayan Youth criticized the removal of Vice President Leni Robredo from the Interagency Committee Against Drugs, barely two weeks after she accepted the challenge.
“In hot water for his failure on the War on Drugs, Duterte wasn’t able to take the heat so he kicked VP Leni out. Like his PHP 50 million cauldron, Duterte’s anti-drug campaign was exposed as all grand display but useless and hallow within,”  Akbayan Youth chairperson Dr. RJ Naguit.

“The youth clearly knows the reason why Duterte had to remove Leni: he’s afraid of losing credibility to a woman in his own forte,” Dr. Naguit said.
“Akbayan Youth together with various civil society organizations will continue to fight for a humane, evidence-informed campaign to address the issue of substance use in the country” Dr. Naguit ended.
