MANILA — A magnitude 5.9 quake jolted Bukidnon Monday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The quake of tectonic origin struck 9 kilometers northwest of the municipality of Kadingilan at 9:22 p.m.

It had a depth of 9 kilometers.

Intensity 5 was felt in Kadingilan, Dumulog, Kalilangan, Talakag, and Valencia City, Bukidnon; and the cities of Kidapawan and Marawi.

Intensity 4 was recorded in Impasugong, Bukidnon; Cotabato City; Davao City; Koronadal City, Malungon, Sarangani; Cagayan de Oro City, and Intensity 3 in Gingoog City; Tupi, South Cotabato; and Alabel, Sarangani.

Intensity 2 was reported in Kiamba, Sarangani; General Santos City; and Mambajao, Camiguin.

Phivolcs is expecting aftershocks and damage from the magnitude 5.9 quake.
