MANILA — Malacañang wished over 8,245 law graduates good luck in the 2019 Bar Examinations and urged them to rise to the challenge.

Presidential Spokesperson and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, a lawyer himself, encouraged all aspiring lawyers to try their hardest in attempting to pass the Bar exams.

“To our bar candidates, good luck as we wish you all the best. Believe in yourselves and give your best shot. Make your family, school, and community proud,” Panelo said.

“This is your moment. Rise to the challenge!” he added.

Panelo described the Bar exams as “the culmination of a journey for more than 8,000 examinees who dream of embarking a career in the legal profession.”

He also offered them prayers, acknowledging the tedious process it took for them to finally be able to reach the point of taking the Bar exams.

“We offer our sincere prayers to our legal aspirants who toiled day and night poring over their law books, court decisions, and jurisprudence in preparation for this life-changing moment,” Panelo said.

The 2019 Bar exams will be held on all four Sundays of November at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in España, Manila, according to the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court buses are stationed in different areas in Metro Manila to transport candidates and duty personnel to UST in case of heavy rain and flooding.

Those who wish to board the buses must present their Notice of Admission, Gate Pass and/or identification cards.

Buses are stationed as early as 4:30 a.m. and would leave at 5 a.m. with boarding on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pick-up stations include Quezon City Memorial Circle; Park and Ride, Lawton, Manila; Supreme Court Compound, Taft Avenue; EDSA-Magallanes Flyover; Greenbelt and Glorietta, Ayala Center, Makati; and the Marikina Sports Complex.

In 2018, 1,800 of the 8,155 examinees passed the exam or a 22.07 percent passing rate.
