“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” this is how newly-single Miley Cyrus starts her very first post after news broke out that she has called it quits with husband Liam Hemsworth.

Miley’s post on Instagram featuring two photos of her, though not explicitly stating the split, talks about her healing process.

“Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once underwater, connected with Africa, change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created overnight, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed,” she continues.

She also quotes her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, telling her, “Nature never hurries but it is always on time.” And Miley believes that she “was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own…”

It was on the weekend when a representative of Miley confirmed to the publication People that “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.”

“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy,” the statement further says.

Prior to the news, rumors are afloat after Miley posted a photo of herself on Instagram, not wearing her wedding ring, but wearing other accessories like a necklace and bracelets.

The separation became the talk of the town as Miley and Liam have been in an on-and-off relationship since they met in 2009. Liam proposed in 2012 but they broke off the engagement the next year. They got back together in 2015 and tied the knot on December 2018.
