Pentatonix is coming to Manila
Three-time Grammy award-winning acapella group, originally from Arlington, Texas, Pentatonix has announced that they will officially be making their Manila return for their upcoming “Pentatonix: The World Tour” next February 8, 2020, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Wilbros Live initially announced the news last Tuesday, July 16, revealing that the concert is happening at 8 pm for only one night.
Tickets are available on the Ticketnet website on August 3, but prices have yet to be announced.
Among the other stops on the tour include numerous cities in Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. The last time the group was in Manila was in September 2016.
Originally formed in 2011 by winning the third season of NBC’s “The Sing Off,” Pentatonix is a five-member group comprised of singers Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee. Since then, the created a YouTube channel boasts of more than 17 million subscribers and four million views.
The group’s first album was released in 2015 and landed number 1 on the Billboard 200. In the same year, they were featured in the film “Pitch Perfect 2.” In October 2017, Pentatonix released their platinum holiday album entitled, “A Pentatonix Christmas Deluxe.”
With their vocal harmonies that cover basslines, riffing, percussion, and beatbox, Pentatonix has three Grammy awards under their belt, namely two Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella titles and one Best Country Duo/Group Performance title.
