MANILA — Turning down the resignation of Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, only strengthens resolve for President Aquino’s impeachment, according to a lawmaker.

On his Twitter account, Kabataan Party-list Representative Terry Ridon said there is now enough reason to impeach the president.

“Non-acceptance of resignation gives further resolve for the impeachment of the President. Betrayal of [public] trust [includes] cronyism and favoritism,” Ridon said.

Also on Twitter, Ridon said Abad’s resignation is “insincere,” and a mere “gimmick,” citing  Sec. Petilla’s resignation after missing his self-imposed deadline to bring back power to disaster-hit areas.

“Bumenta na ‘yan. Sec. Petilla did the same gimmick last year,” Ridon added.

Ridon, who was among the petitioners against DAP, said the declaration of the unconstitutionality of some parts of DAP is a “solid ground” for culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust.
