MANILA — Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice belittled the military group, Bayan’s plan to file an impeachment complaint against President Aquino.

Erice said in an interview with GMA News that the case, which will be filed in connection with the controversial Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) is expected of a leftist group who always put the blame on the president.

“Alam mo yung Bayan lahat naman ng presidente hinahainan nila ng impeachment,” Erice said.

(You know that Bayan always files an impeachment complaint against every president.

)

“’Yung grupo ng mga leftist tuwing may presidente lahat mali ang ginagawa,” he added.

(The leftist group always blames every president of his or her wrongdoing.)

He also added that the impeachment complaint will slow down the Congress which still has a long list of work to do.

“Makasasagabal ito sa takbo ng Kongreso. Makakaabala ‘yan, marami kaming ginagawa ngayon tulad ng 2015 budget, anti-political dynasty law, yung Freedom of Information (FOI) bill.”

(It will be an obstacle for the Congress. It’s going to be a waste of time.

We have a lot of work to do like the 2015 budget, the anti-political dynasty law, and the Freedom of Information (FOI) bill)

“Walang kwenta itong ipa-file na impeachment, sa palagay ko walang mangyayari, pero we will deal with it.”

(The impeachment complaint will be useless. I think nothing will happen, but we will deal with it.)
