DAR Secretary appoints new public assistance, media services chief
MANILA – Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary John R. Castriciones has appointed Cleon Lester Chavez as the new Director of the Public Assistance and Media Relations Service (PAMRS) of the department.
Chavez, who was sworn in during simple rites at the Office of the DAR Secretary on Aug. 28, is seen to open a new chapter in the department’s mandate to tell stories of how DAR’s programs impact the lives of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries.
Chavez took his oath of office before Castriciones, witnessed by PAMRS personnel.
Prior to his appointment as DAR-PAMRS Director, Chavez, a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University, was a broadcast industry professional with 20 years of experience in producing award-winning news, current affairs, public service and documentary television programs.
Castriciones also enjoined the PAMRS personnel to cooperate with Director Chavez as he assumes his new post.
“With his leadership, I believe that he will be able to make your Division a very viable office that will help enhance the mission and vision of the Department,” Castriciones said.
