SQUAMISH, B.C.  —  Search and rescue crews have responded to a report of hikers falling into the water in the Shannon Falls area near Squamish, B.C.

Squamish Search and Rescue officials say they have a crew in the air assessing the situation.

Lions Bay Search and Rescue says it has also been called in to help.

The popular hiking area was closed off to the public Tuesday afternoon.
