MANILA — President Rodrigo Duterte’s youngest daughter and two grandchildren were given Dengvaxia vaccine shots, Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go said Tuesday.

At the sidelines of the 120th Philippine Navy anniversary at the Coconut Palace, Go said presidential daughter Veronica ‘Kitty’ Duterte and grandchildren Sabina and Uno were among thousands who were vaccinated with Dengvaxia.

He said the confirmation came from Veronica’s mother, Honeylet Avancena.

Sabina and Uno are children of former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte and wife January Navares.

Dengvaxia became controversial after it was linked to the deaths of children who have been injected with the vaccine even without showing symptoms of dengue.

Roque said Duterte has ordered the formation of the team due to the conflicting findings of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) and University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital.

The Dengvaxia vaccination program was approved during the time of former President Benigno Aquino III.
