Gary V: I’m feeling stronger and stronger every single day
Gary Valenciano chooses to ‘come back’ to the ASAP stage, through a live phone interview, to assure everyone that he is feeling stronger and stronger everyday.
Just to have Mr. Pure Energy grace ASAP on May 20, Sunday even through digital means, meant a lot for him.
“Pinapanood ko kayo d’yan, parang sobrang miss na miss ko nang tumapak sa entablado ng ASAP (I watch you guys, and I really miss stepping on the stage of ASAP),” he said.
Gary, who just had an open heart surgery earlier this May, is currently recovering.
“’Yung kalagayan ko ngayon, nakikita niyo sa video, unti-unti akong lumalakas pero (My condition right now, as you can see in the video, is that I am slowly getting stronger but) I want to thank everyone, including everybody at ABS-CBN,” he said, referring to the footages shown to the audience during his phone patch interview.
“Gusto ko lang sabihin sa inyo na 100% ay sinasagot ang mga prayer at panalangin because (I just want to tell all of you that your prayers are being answered 100% because) I’m really feeling good, I’m feeling stronger and stronger every single day,” the 53-year-old singer-dancer added.
In his period of recovery, Gary also chooses to manifest his gratitude to the people’s support through his craft.
“One of these days, siguro gagawa ako ng kanta bilang pasasalamat sa lahat ng prayers, lahat ng support. It’s really incredible na mabasa ko ‘yung mga sinusulat, ‘yung mabasa ko ang concerns ng lahat, but I’m doing okay (One of these days, perhaps I will write a song as a form of gratitude for all the prayers, for all the support. It’s really incredible to read all the written concerns of everyone, but I’m doing okay),” he assures.
The 53-year-old artist, who was also diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, was apologetic on the night of his surgery, sending his apologies to his prior commitments which included ASAP, Your Face Sounds Familiar, Tawag ng Tanghalan in It’s Showtime, and others.
“I need to excuse myself from all these commitments until I fully recover from the bypass surgery,” he penned in a statement earlier.
