National Museum of National History to open on Int’l Museum Day
After a sneak-peek to the public last year, the National Museum of Natural History will now formally open its doors for the whole world to see.
Just in time to celebrate International Museum Day on May 18, the third building of the National Museum complex will officially open, free for the public.
The National Museum of Natural History is the third building to complete the complex along with the National Museum of Fine Arts and National Museum of Anthropology.
It was first unveiled to the public on October 29, 2017, for a one-day open house that showcased not only its exhibit elements but also its architecture and interior design.
According to its website, it houses the largest national repository of botanical or plant collection in the country as well as a vast collection of the different animal specimens from all over the archipelago of the Philippines.
This new museum’s one-day open house last year gave glimpses of the life-size replica of the crocodile “Lolong” and its preserved body, and many more exhibit displays.
