Warm Monday due to high pressure area, easterlies
MANILA — Warm weather will prevail over the country on Monday due to the ridge of high pressure area and the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its forecast, the state weather bureau said the ridge of high pressure area is affecting northern Luzon while the easterlies is affecting the rest of the country.
Metro Manila will have cloudy to partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Northern Luzon will have occasionally strong winds from east to southeast with coastal waters becoming moderate to rough.
The eastern section of Central Visayas and Southern Luzon will have east to northwest winds pulling occasionally rough coastal waters.
Mindanao and the rest of Luzon and the country will have light to moderate winds from east to northwest with slight to moderate coastal waters.
Meantime, PAGASA cautioned the public to protect themselves from the harmful effects of hot weather by drinking plenty of water, using an umbrella, and wearing light-colored clothes as rising temperatures may be felt in the next three days, reaching up to 49 degrees Celsius.
Excessive exposure to the sun could result to a diseases including sunburn, dizziness, headache, fainting and heat stroke.
