Occidental Mindoro bus accident left 19 dead

A bus that fell off to a 15-meter-deep ravine in the province of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, left at least 19 dead and 21 others injured on Tuesday evening.

The victims of the Dimple Bus crash were transported to Occidental Mindoro Provincial Hospital in Mamburao and San Sebastian District Hospital in Sablayan.

The operator of Dimple Star, Hilbert Napat said the bereaved families of the victims will be given P200,000 each and those who were injured would receive P20,000.

The bus with a license plate TYU 708 and body number 7805 was headed to Manila when it crashed and fell off Patrick Bridge, bordering Barangay Batongbuhay and San Agustin.

According to the police, this tragic incident is the deadliest road accident in the country since December 2017.
