Baligod: Napoles made 15B in 10 years
MANILA — Lawyer Levito Baligod said alleged pork barrel mastermind, Janet Lim Napoles made almost P15 billion in 10 years of dealing with government funds.
According to Baligod’s documentation, the amount is still exclusive of Napoles’ properties and luxury items which may be worth hundreds of millions of pesos.
Baligod’s statement was also supported by the 2013 recorded transactions on bank accounts in the country.
According to him, his records were secured a month before Janet Lim surrendered for the serious illegal detention charged by primary witness, Benhur Luy.
Aside from the bank transaction amount which already reached P14.9 billion, Baligod said Napoles still have P4 billion in cold cash.
“Iyung 10-year period, hanggang June of 2013, ang cash deposit niya ay umaabot ng P4 billion. Pagbili niya ng foreign currency, iyung mga pagbili niya ng redeemable shares, lahat lahat po umaabot ng mga P6-P7 billion financial transactions niya,” he said.
The Anti-Money Laundering Council is now investigating the said bank accounts.
