CEU returns to top after blasting Akari Adamson
MANILA – CEU moved back to the top of the standings in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup after mauling Akari-Adamson, 76-57, at the JCSGO Gym in Quezon City on Tuesday.
Rod Ebondo dropped 25 points for the Scorpions, who outscored the Soaring Falcons, 23-11, in the first quarter before holding off their opponents with a 22-12 third quarter.
In the second game, Che’Lu-San Sebastian stunned a now surprisingly skidding Zark’s-Lyceum squad, 97-88.
While it may be a revenge of sorts for the Golden Stags-bolstered Revellers after bowing to the Jawbreakers in the PCCL semifinals, it was the CEU Scorpion alumni tandem of Alfred Batino and Samboy De Leon who led the way for them as they scored 24 and 21 points respectively.
Mike Calisaan added 13, while Allyn Bulanadi, who was stellar the past few games, chipped in nine.
Jaycee Marcelino fired 15 markers for Zark’s-Lyceum in a game where CJ Perez was limited to only nine.
