How to overcome dog fear: The Bea Alonzo way
While a lot may find joy in being glomped and pounced by a wet nose and a wagging tail, some are at the other side of the coin, cowering in fear at the sight of these furries. Bea Alonzo shares the struggle and the fulfillment of overcoming her fear of dogs.
“When I was six years old, I was trapped inside a dog house,” Bea started sharing in a lengthy Instagram post.
According to the actress, she was playing hide and seek with her cousins and eventually found herself hiding in a dog house.
“I was attacked by the dog (who had just given birth and was disturbed by the naughty little girl),” Bea wrote referring to her younger self.
“That incident made me fear dogs for the past 24 years,” she added.
For Bea who was haunted by this fear from a young age until her adulthood, no one knew that she would lose it at the sight of another dog.
“I still am scared actually, but three days ago, I got this cute little puppy from a nice guy,” she wrote, refusing to not drop a name.
“I swear, I screamed the first time I saw the puppy!” she exclaimed saying that she might have scared her new baby furry friend.
Bea said that as part of her New Year’s resolution, she vowed to overcome her fear of dogs.
“I just went for it and held him. And he is the gentlest dog I have ever seen. Fell in love with him instantly,” she continued.
Named Walter White, Bea shared to her Instagram world, a Maltese puppy – she claims to be obsessed with now.
“I can’t wait to get on this journey with him for I have not experienced this kind of love before… love for animals. I know I will learn a lot from this journey,” she wrote.
For a Bea Alonzo, getting over her dog fear requires a first step of embracing one.
