PH ideal venue for MICE
MANILA — Noting the steady increase in the number of Polish tourist arrivals to the Philippines and the potential of the Polish market, the Philippine government is increasing its promotion in Poland.
Among the measures was the participation of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) for the first time in the 2017 edition of the annual “Meet the Bidder” event to promote the Philippines as an ideal venue for M.I.C.E. (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions).
In its news from the foreign post, the Department of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday said TPB officials who visited Warsaw for the said event were Grace La Rosa, Project Officer of the M.I.C.E. Department and Raquel Ruth Tria, Officer-in-Charge of the Events Marketing and Services Division, M.
I.C.E. Department.
Philippine Ambassador to Poland Patricia Ann Paez introduced the TPB officials to the president of the Polish Chamber of Tourism Pawel Niewiadomski who led the first-ever familiarization tour to the Philippines of a Polish delegation from the Chamber in March 2014.
Since his visit to the Philippines, Niewiadomski relayed to the Philippine officials that he has brought at least four big groups of Polish tourists to Boracay.
The “Meet the Bidder” was organized by Marcin Lewandowski to provide a venue for “sellers” and “buyers” for M.I.C.E. to meet and partner in the business and is held yearly in Warsaw. It has been attracting more participants each year, said the agency.
