The Public Probe
WHAT IS ‘THE PUBLIC PROBE?’
PCI believes that everybody has a story to tell. All unique, all interesting, all worthy to be heard. “The Public Probe” is an avenue to share stories, perspectives, and thoughts.
Stories can be about yourself, your environment, or just about life in general.
WHO CAN JOIN?
Anyone currently residing in the Philippines and Canada can participate and submit his/her own article.
We welcome submissions from all walks of life. You story counts–no matter what.
MECHANICS
The article can be about personal thoughts on current events or about life in general.
The article must have at least 500 words, but not more than 1200.
Do not forget to send your complete name (or preferred published name), age, and current vocation.
Articles must be submitted in MS Word format (.doc or .docx).
Format: 12pt Arial, 1.5 spaces in between lines, 1” margin on all sides.
Submissions must be sent to publicprobe@www.canadianinquirer.net with the subject: (Title) – (Author’s initial and last name)
Example: The Long Walk Home – J Dela Cruz
Submissions will be reviewed and approved within 2-3 days upon receipt of entry. The author will be notified by email.
If an article was chosen and published on the website, the author will be notified via e-mail (only) and will be sent the corresponding URL of their published article.
All submissions will be considered property of the Philippine Canadian Inquirer and may not be re-published anywhere else.
Re-publishing of chosen article on author’s personal blogs is subject for approval.
Winning authors (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) may submit new articles three months after winning.
Participants may submit up to three (3) articles every week.

Every month, the three most shared articles will receive cash prizes.
1st Prize PhP 5,000
2nd Prize PhP 3,000
3rd Prize PhP 1,500
The top author will have his/her article printed on the PCI newspaper. He/she will also receive a copy of the issue where his/her article was printed.
Winners will be notified via e-mail only.
