MANILA — An election watchdog urged Filipinos, who will turn 18 years old on or before the May 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), to register to be able to participate in the forthcoming polls.

Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) Chairperson Rene Sarmiento said it is important for them to participate in the country’s electoral exercises.

“PPCRV is inviting voters 18 years of age (including those 17 years old today but 18 years old on the the day of the election) to register and to vote,” he said.

Sarmiento added, “One vote is important because in barangay and SK elections, there are tie votes.
