LPA spotted; scattered rainshowers to prevail Saturday

MANILA — A new low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted at 715 km. east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, the state weather bureau said Saturday morning.

The trough of the LPA will cause cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers during thunderstorms over Bicol, Quezon and eastern Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) added.

The northeast monsoon affecting northern Luzon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos and Cordillera regions.

Cagayan Valley and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers during thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a cold front.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will blow over Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Light to moderate winds will prevail over Visayas and Mindanao with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
