‘Mom’s chief dealt with Napoles, not my mom’ – Jinggoy

MANILA — After her mother’s inclusion in the controversial Napoles List, Senator Jinggoy Estrada defended mother and former Senator Loi Estrada by saying that it was his mom’s former chief of staff who got involved with Napoles.

“Walang alam si mommy ko talaga. (My mother doesn’t really know anything.) I already asked her. She was surprised why she was included in the list. So I think it was her late chief of staff [Jake Acuña] who was the one who was dealing with the office of Mrs. Napoles,” he said.

The controversial list reported to have been made by the alleged mastermind in the pork scam, Janet Lim-Napoles, named 20 former and incumbent senators including both Estradas.

The younger Estrada’s name emerged during the early stages of investigation, which became the basis of charging plunder cases against him and two other senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Bong Revilla, before the Office of the Ombudsman.

On the other hand, former Senator Loi’s name only got involved recently after the “NapoList” was revealed.

However, the Estradas were not the only lawmakers complaining about their inclusion on Napoles’ controversial list.

Senator Koko Pimentel, who was also included in the list, is now planning to file perjury charges against Napoles for unjustly implicating him in the scam.

Just like Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, who was earlier reported to have plans of filing charges against the media for reporting about his alleged involvement, Pimentel also mulls the filing of libel charges against members of the media against who have maligned him.
