Palace urges Napoles to complete affidavit before making demands

MANILA — It’s time alleged pork barrel mastermind Janet Napoles put her money where her mouth is.

This was the statement made by deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte following Napoles’ consistent demand to be given immunity from the P10-billion pork barrel scam.

“Let us wait for her (to submit her complete) affidavit before she makes demands,” Valte said in the vernacular in an interview over state-run dzRB Radyo ng Bayan.

“In American colloquial language, you put your money where your mouth is,” she added.

The previous deadline submission was May 22 until Justice Secretary Leila de Lima asked for an extension until May 26 (Monday), for Napoles to submit the affidavit because of medical woes.

This was granted by Senate Blue Ribbon committee chairperson Senator Teofisto Guingona noting that it was a valid reason.

Meanwhile, Napoles’ lawyer Atty. Stephen David mentioned that his client’s affidavit is 90 to 95 percent complete and will submitted to the Department of Justice on Monday.
