MANILA — A missing Filipina is among those presumed dead in a massive fire that struck a high-rise apartment building in London last week, the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom announced Monday.

The Embassy said Mrs. Ligaya Moore had not been found despite its diligent search made in coordination with the Metropolitan Police (MetPolice) and the Filipino Community in London.

“She has now been included by the MetPolice as among those presumed to have perished in the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Her next of kin have been informed. Our thoughts go out to her family and loved ones as we hope for the recovery of her mortal remains,” it said in a statement.

The Embassy also reiterated its call for victims to identify themselves as it continues coordinating assistance for them from Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Filipino community.

A huge fire engulfed Grenfell Tower, a 27-storey council housing estate with 120 homes, in north Kensington last June 14.
