MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation on Friday announced the re-arrest of Korean-American Jun No drug-supplier who escaped from police custody last April 15.

NBI-Task Force Against Illegal Drugs (NBI-TFAID) head, lawyer Jonathan Galicia, said No was tracked down and arrested in a computer shop in Barangay Tetuan, Zamboanga City on Thursday before he could flee the country using its backdoor.

No was nabbed by joint operatives of the NBI-TFAID in cooperation with NBI Western Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-WEMRO), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Galicia said No, who did not resist arrest, was checking at that time money sent by his family.

The NBI official said No was supposed to board at Tetuan a ship bound to Sandakan, Malaysia.

He said No managed to slip into Zamboanga City from Cebu City on May 31 using a fake passport bearing the name Choi Minsoo.

Because of this, No will be charged with violation of Article 172 in relation to Article 171 of the Revised Penal Code as well as violation of the Anti-Alias Law and Republic Act 8239, also known as the Passport Law.

Earlier, Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed criminal case against Jun No, for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 has been filed before the Pasay City Regional Trial Court after authorities seized 140 ecstasy tablets.

The DOJ set another preliminary investigation for the complaint involving No’s sale of two pieces of ecstasy tablets to a poseur buyer at a restaurant in Malate, Manila on April 2.

Assistant State Prosecutor Noel Antay Jr. prepared the resolution and was approved by Prosecutor General Victor Sepulveda.
