DSWD releases additional PHP1.6M in cash grant for 4Ps beneficiaries in Bataan
ORION, Bataan— The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released more than PHP1.6 million as additional cash grant for livelihood projects of 82 woman-beneficiaries of government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in this municipality.
Orion Mayor Antonio Raymundo distributed Sunday checks worth PHP20,000 each to 61 women who will go into dressmaking and 21 others, some Aeta women, who will be in diversified farming.
“Through this program, you can gradually have your own livelihood that could help your families,” the mayor told recipients.
Raymundo urged the beneficiaries to put the money into good use and to take care of their projects.
Among the recipients of the checks were some Aeta women from Bayan-Bayanan, an upland village in Orion.
“I will raise goats and pigs,” answered Jocelyn Alipio, Aeta with six children, when asked what her project was all about.
Roshane delos Santos of Barangay Capunitan asked the mayor for a space where all the 61 would-be dressmakers can place their sewing machines and do business for which Raymundo approved to the cheering of the women.
Delos Santos said the PHP20,000 they received will be used for their training and purchase of sewing machines. Training in dressmaking will last for three weeks or 15 days.
“This is a big help. Thank you that we were given opportunities to learn and have our source of livelihood,” she said.
She said that as 4P beneficiary with a child in elementary school, she receives PHP800 monthly.
She thanked the Duterte administration which added PHP600 as rice subsidy.
With the additional PHP600, Delos Santos said she presently receives PHP1,400 monthly that is being released every two months for PHP2,800.
