5.0 magnitude quake rocks Metro Manila, Batangas
MANILA — A Magnitude-5.0 earthquake rocked Batangas and Metro Manila early Wednesday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has reported the earthquake at 22 kilometers southwest of Nasugbu town at 12:09 a.m. Officials of the institute are now expecting aftershocks.
The quake which had a depth of 109 kilometers, classified as tectonic, was recorded in the following areas:
Intensity 3 in Nasugbu and intensity 2 in Pasay City; Manila City; Muntinlupa City; Quezon City.
As of writing, no immediate damage was reported from the quake.
