Security guards in Baguio City may soon have a faster way to report incidents and coordinate with police through a new digital platform being developed by the Baguio City Police Office.
The application, called the Guard’s Unified Assistance and Reporting Digital Link (GUARDLINK), is currently in the coding stage and is expected to be rolled out soon, according to BCPO Director Col. Nixon Laoyan.
The system aims to centralize communication among security personnel and police, allowing faster reporting, information sharing and coordinated responses to emergencies.
The initiative was launched under the leadership of former city police director Ruel Tagel, who has since been assigned to the Police Regional Office Cordillera’s Regional Plans and Strategic Management Division.
Laoyan said the police would continue pursuing technology-driven measures to strengthen public safety, improve security operations and enhance emergency response across the city.
GUARDLINK will complement the BCPO Baguio View application, which provides residents and tourists with real-time updates on traffic conditions, road access to major tourist destinations, conditions at tourist sites and parking availability.
The existing app is intended to help motorists and visitors plan their trips more efficiently, while the new platform will focus on improving coordination between security guards and law enforcement.
