MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) remained ahead of its revenue goal through September, collecting P757.406 billion during the first nine months of 2026.
The amount exceeded the agency’s January-to-September target of P748.494 billion by P8.913 billion, or about 1.2 percent.
The latest total also represents an increase from the comparable period last year. Collections reached about P701.67 billion from January to September 2025, putting this year’s revenue roughly 7.9 percent higher.
The September result builds on the BOC’s performance through August, when collections had already reached P664.776 billion, exceeding the adjusted eight-month target of P659.309 billion by P5.467 billion. The bureau said the January-to-August figure was its highest collection for that period.
Based on the latest cumulative figures, the BOC generated approximately P92.63 billion in September, widening its year-to-date surplus over the government target.
The bureau has attributed its revenue performance this year to tighter monitoring of imports, improved valuation and classification, enforcement efforts and continued digitalization of customs processes.
The BOC is aiming to reach the P1-trillion collection mark in 2026. With P757.406 billion collected through September, it would need approximately P242.6 billion during the final three months of the year to reach that level.
